 Custom Home Designs and Permit Drawings
for You, your Contractor and the Building Department

Next Steps: Permit Drawings

You've Got Your Design Drawings . . . But Now What?

It's Time To Get Building Permits! But first . . .

Did you know you can use your home Design Drawings to get a construction estimate? The benefits are:

  • You have an idea of what your project will cost ahead of time;
  • You now know if you can do all of your design ideas or make any necessary changes before moving forward with the next phase; and
  • You can interview contractors to see who you’d like to work with . . . or not

Now, here are the next 3 steps to getting your home built!

1.  Have your professional building designer or architect transform your home Design Drawings to Permit Drawings. Depending on the type of construction, there are several types of permits required for the various codes set down by your city or county, from hurricane wind load calculations to flood levels, etc. Your design professional will know what these are and incorporate them into the Permit Drawings. Once complete they will need to be signed and sealed by a licensed professional.

Don’t have someone to do permit drawings?
Do an online search for what you want and the city.

Or contact your local Building & Development Department.

2.  After your Permit Drawings are signed & sealed, you can use these to get solid bids from contractors and decide who’ll be the builder to bring your drawings to life.

3.  And, once you’ve hired your contractor, he/she can go to the Building Department with your Permit Drawings to get the necessary permits to start your project.

And before you know it, you can be moving in to your beautiful home
